The Bridge City Community Church is submitted to the leadership and guidance of its Head, Jesus Christ.
As a member congregation of the Worldwide Church of God Canada, we are governed by the National Denominational office in Surrey, BC, under the supervision of the National Director, Gary Moore, and the District Superintendent for Western Canada, Alan Redmond.
Locally, our congregation is cared for and administered by a team consisting of a Pastor and a Council. The Council consists of Elders and Stewards.
COUNCIL ELDERS
Our Council Elders are individuals selected from the congregation to serve for a two year term, with the option of serving a second consecutive two year term. No Elder may serve a third consecutive term, but may be reconsidered for the position after a one year break.
Council Elders must be mature in age and experience (at least over 30 years old, usually over 40), a committed Christian for at least 5 years, and able to work cooperatively and constructively in a group/team setting. Furthermore, it is assumed that Elders will conduct themselves in a manner which:
- Displays a love of God and neighbour
- Demonstrates a desire to see the body of Christ growing in a healthy environment
- A supporter of the purpose & mission of the congregation
- Displays Christian morality, and sound judgment.
Currently, our Council Elders are:
- Murray Tiegen
- Sharon Friesen
STEWARDS
Our Stewards also serve on the Council to advise and to direct the operation and plans of the congregation. Stewards are dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and energy to organizing, planning, and implementing many functions and activities within the congregation.
Currently, our Stewards are:
- Jean Glombowski (Kitchen Coordinator)
- Adam Bogucki (Set up Coordinator)
- Sharon Bogucki (Worship Coordinator)
- Elaine Chometsky (Treasurer)
We sincerely appreciate and respect all the ways in which our Council members sacrifice their time and give of themselves to further the health and strength of the congregation. We also recognize that many, many members who are not on the Council at this time are instrumental in ensuring the effective operation of the congregation - a huge thank you to all of you.
